Empowering EU-Japan Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation – Key programmes to facilitate EU-Japan Cooperation:

The Cabinet Office in Japan has adopted the 5th Science and Technology Basic Plan. Japan’s S&T administration operates under the basic policies of the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation （CSTI） chaired by the Prime Minister, and works to promote S&T in coordination with related ministries. These basic plans are made every 5 years an four Science and Technology Basic Plans have been established already since 1996.
